Minister of Justice Herman Halushchenko met with representatives from the International Monetary Fund, led by Gavin Gray, to discuss the implementation of the IMF program under the Extended Fund Facility and anti-corruption initiatives.
This information was provided by the press service of the Ministry of Justice.
The minister outlined the key priorities for reforming the anti-corruption system over the next 12 months.
«Our strategy in the field of anti-corruption goes beyond just creating new laws. The entire digital transformation of justice aims to reduce corruption risks. Wherever we eliminate the human factor, we decrease opportunities for corruption. Among such initiatives are the electronic court, e-notary (which we are already testing), and the digitization of enforcement proceedings», Halushchenko emphasized.
The minister highlighted that reforms in the fight against corruption are a key task for the ministry and are closely tied to Ukraine's European integration commitments, as outlined in the Roadmap on the Rule of Law.
The parties also discussed issues of judicial reform, access to judicial expertise, and the execution of decisions by the European Court of Human Rights.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Halushchenko stressed that the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine remains committed to further reforms in the fight against corruption, as confirmed by the commitments outlined in the Memorandum with the IMF, Ukraine's Plan for the Ukraine Facility, and the Roadmap on the Rule of Law.
