From April 4 to 6, the U-17 Ukrainian Wrestling Championship was held in Khmelnytskyi.

This event was a qualifying round for the European Championship scheduled for June in Italy.

The gold medal and a spot at the European Championship were claimed by Herman Basarab (48 kg), a member of the Odessa Wrestling Federation, representing the Greek club, the Olympic Sports School, and the Dynamo Sports Society.

Another representative from Odessa, Danilo Dragulian, competed in the 65 kg category but lost a tense final to a Kharkiv athlete, earning a silver medal and a place in the national team.

Both athletes were coached by experienced mentors — Viktor Synyavskyi and Oleksandr Hrabovan.
