Vadim Naumenko: A Star of Ukrainian Swimming

Odesa athlete Vadim NAUMENKO showcased his talent by winning 4 gold medals at the open swimming championship in Lithuania, held in Vilnius from April 3 to 6.

CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS

Under the guidance of coach Oleksandra KURBANOVA, Vadim excelled in the 200 m and 400 m individual medley events, along with the relays – 4x100 m medley and 4x200 m freestyle.

Additionally, he ranked among the top 6 swimmers of the championship and received special awards along with his coach.

MEDAL DETAILS

In his specialty, the 200-meter individual medley, Vadim NAUMENKO triumphed with a time of 2:02.11, seizing the lead from the start. He completed the 400 meters in 4:23.07, finishing second to fellow Ukrainian Anton Denisenko.

In the medley relay, where Vadim and Anton were joined by Maksym Ovchinnikov and Denys Kesil, the team achieved a time of 3:41.07, surpassing their nearest competitor by 2.45 seconds.

In the 4x200 m freestyle relay, the Ukrainian team won with a time of 7:30.75, finishing 1.62 seconds ahead of the silver medalists. Georgiy Lukashev replaced Ovchinnikov in this relay.

FUTURE COMPETITIONS

The next event for the Odesa region team will be the Ukrainian championship scheduled for April 25-29 in Brovary.

Moreover, on April 12-13, Arseniy POBEREZHNUIK and Ivan RIADUIEV will participate in the international competition “Multination.” The older swimmers will compete in Limassol (Cyprus), while the younger ones will compete in Ljubljana (Slovenia).
