Warmth and Support for Residents in Winter
A heating point has opened in Odesa to support people during tough winter conditions. Here, you will find warmth and assistance.
Odesa athletes secured five medals at the European Karate Championship held from February 6 to 8 in Limassol, Cyprus.
Approximately 1200 competitors from 40 countries participated in the event.
Notable achievements were made by students from Odesa's sports schools and athletes from the All-Ukrainian Karate Federation in the Odesa region.
Maxim Vechanov from Youth Sports School No. 15 became the European champion. This is Maxim's third medal at the youth European championships, having previously won gold in 2025 and silver in 2024 among cadets.
Hanna Maistreko, also from Youth Sports School No. 15, earned a silver medal.
Vladislav Rudenko (Youth Sports School No. 16), Serhiy Stankov (Legion Sports Club), and Ulyana Baranova (Okinawa Sports Club) also claimed silver medals, marking their second achievement. In 2024, Serhiy won gold among cadets, while Ulyana and Vladislav won bronze among juniors in 2025.
Maxim Vechanov and Ulyana Baranova immediately headed to Fujairah (UAE) to participate in the global karate league.
The athletes were coached by: Volodymyr Zaretskyi, Oleksiy Konovalov, and instructors: Volodymyr Holoveshko, Dmytro Negaturov, Denys Sustretov, Orkhan Yusifov, and Ruslan Khomutenko.
