The situation on the southern front is worsening. Recent reports indicate that Russian forces have increased drone and artillery strikes. This was stated by the spokesperson for the southern defense forces, Vladislav Voloshin.

"The situation is quite complex, showing signs of escalation. Over the past day, the enemy has intensified drone strikes and artillery shelling, targeting not only our positions but also nearby settlements along the front line. There has also been a noticeable increase in the number of munitions used," Voloshin noted.

He further added that fewer combat encounters were recorded yesterday compared to other fronts.

"There were 13 clashes in the south, eight of which occurred in the Huliaipole direction, where the enemy has been unsuccessfully trying to seize Poltavka. Additionally, four clashes took place in the Orihiv direction, near the settlements of Kamianske and Stepove, and the enemy attempted to storm our positions near the Antonivskyi bridges. All attempts were unsuccessful," he elaborated.

Voloshin also informed that in the Orihiv direction near Stepove, Russian occupiers once again used motorcycles in their assaults but failed, suffering losses and retreating.

On October 6, 193 combat encounters were recorded between the Armed Forces and Russian invaders, with Ukrainian troops repelling 59 enemy attacks in the Pokrovsk direction.
