Drone Assault on Odesa Region at Night
A drone assault occurred at night in the Odesa region, resulting in a fire at an infrastructure facility.
Every day, approximately 180 employees of the City Greenery Company work to maintain the city's green areas. They care for plants, address the aftermath of bad weather, plant new trees, and beautify the city with vibrant flowers.
Since the beginning of the year, the team has pruned 81,187 rose bushes and performed formative pruning on 464 decorative weeping trees.
Across their designated territories, they have sown lawn grasses over an area of 18,723 square meters and weeded flower beds covering 164,183 square meters. Additionally, 2,519 dry branches were removed and litter was cleared from 42,988 hectares, with 164.68 cubic meters of branches and leaves cleaned from lawns.
Traditionally, every spring, the greenery specialists begin work on creating floral compositions. This year, 2,880 square meters of spring flower beds were planted. As spring flowers fade, they are replaced with summer blooms, resulting in 4,117 square meters of summer flower beds created. A total of 41,476 perennials were also planted.
Last summer, the city was adorned with 88 vertical flower pots.
All planting materials for spring and summer flower beds, as well as flowers for vertical landscaping, are grown by specialists at the City Greenery Company’s greenhouse.
Furthermore, the company continues its efforts in greening the city’s streets and parks. In 2024, 3,246 trees and 3,104 shrubs were planted, including various species.
Tree planting takes place in all city districts, with all trees older than 10 years, significantly increasing their chances of survival in an urban environment.
The company also conducts ongoing maintenance of park furniture, children's playgrounds, and sports facilities located in Odessa’s parks.
To preserve the health of urban greenery, employees regularly remove advertising signs that can harm the trees.
