Infrastructure Upgrade in Odesa: Heroes' Tribune Square

Starting from August 9, 2024, extensive renovation works at Heroes' Tribune Square (Tolbukhin) commenced in Odesa.

The large-scale project was carried out in phases and included repairs to the roadway, modernization of street lighting, and tram tracks.

As stated by Odesa's mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov, new modern trams have arrived in the city, necessitating repairs on certain sections of the old tracks to ensure safe passage.

The renovation at Heroes' Tribune Square has been completed ahead of schedule. The upgrade of the rail bed and the elevation of the asphalt surface have significantly improved vehicle passage capacity around the square.

Additionally, traffic light systems have been fine-tuned based on preliminary traffic analysis.

Furthermore, the area has been landscaped—new road markings have been made, and the lighting has been replaced with more efficient and economical options. As a result, nighttime traffic in the area has become safer, and tram movement has become smoother and quieter.
