Musical Celebration for Ukraine's Independence Day
A vibrant concert in Odessa celebrating Ukraine's Independence Day, featuring a mix of musical styles.
Odessa and Wroclaw are not just beautiful cities but also significant cultural centers of UNESCO. In Wroclaw, gnomes symbolize the city, with over a thousand sculptures representing various professions and activities. These little characters can be found in cafes, libraries, pharmacies, and more throughout the city.
On October 25, 2024, the Ukrainian-Polish children's contest «Fairy Tale Heroes of UNESCO Literary Cities: The World of Gnomes» will kick off in Odessa.
Participants are required to illustrate their favorite gnomes and write stories about this mythical folk known in Polish mythology as krasnoludki.
Submissions in A3, A4 format, and tales up to 5000 characters will be accepted from October 25 to November 25, 2024, at the email: igо189188@gmail.com.
All entries will be showcased on the contest's dedicated page.
The jury from Odessa and Wroclaw will select the best works and honor the winners. All entries will be part of an exhibition, and the fairy tales will be published in a gnome book and presented in both cities.
This contest aims to strengthen cultural ties between Odessa and Wroclaw.
The organizers are the Centralized Library System for Children of Odessa (Children's Library #45) and the Odessa Section of Children's Writers of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine.
