Agricultural Growth in Odesa Region Amid War

The Odesa region ranks first in Ukraine for grape cultivation, producing 58% of the country's total. Despite the war, the agricultural sector shows significant growth.

This was reported in the magazine "Agribusiness of Ukraine".

Odesa's Leadership

In addition to grapes, Odesa is also a leader in sheep and goat population, with 28% of these animals residing in our region. We also rank first in barley production, accounting for 18% of the national total. Good results are also noted in wheat and rapeseed cultivation, each at 11%.

Growth Despite Hard Times

Despite the challenging economic conditions during the war, Odesa has achieved a notable growth rate of 8.6% in crop production and sheep farming over the last three years. In contrast, some regions are experiencing decline. For instance, Mykolaiv shows a decrease of -16.8%, Sumy -14.9%, and Chernihiv -6.7%. However, the largest growth was recorded in Kyiv region (+23.2%).
