Decrease in Electricity Consumption in Ukraine

As of the morning of April 21, electricity consumption in Ukraine was down by 12.6% compared to April 18.

NEK “Ukrenergo” reported on Facebook that electricity consumption continues to decrease, as noted by Ukrinform.

“Today, April 21, at 9:30, the consumption level was 12.6% lower than the previous working day. This is due to a non-working day declared by some employers,” the agency quotes the company's message.

Additionally, sunny and warm weather across Ukraine is contributing to a drop in electricity consumption from the grid.

Ukrenergo advises shifting energy usage to the most efficient hours for solar power plants, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

It is worth noting that a week ago, on April 15, the heating season 2024/2025 officially ended in Ukraine.

Heating supply has ceased in all regions, but several social institutions such as hospitals, kindergartens, and schools will continue to receive heating under certain temperature conditions.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, announced the successful completion of the third heating season amid the full-scale war, despite numerous Russian attacks on the energy system.

According to him, during the 2024/2025 heating season, Russia launched 9 massive and dozens of smaller attacks against the Ukrainian energy system.

“Despite all this, we endured. In the homes of millions of Ukrainians, in schools and hospitals, there was light and heat. Our enterprises also operated without significant restrictions,” said the Prime Minister.
