New Greenhouse Initiative in Vynogradivka

Farmer Yurii Siurma from the village of Vynogradivka in the Bolgrad community is set to establish a new greenhouse complex. The Bolgrad City Council has supported him, and after an open land auction, Yurii secured the right to lease eight hectares of land in Vynogradivka for his agricultural project. This was reported by Raion.Bolgrad, referencing the Bolgrad City Council.

Yurii Siurma has six years of experience in farming, specializing in the cultivation of organic vegetables without chemical fertilizers. Last year, he successfully grew produce on three hectares and is now looking to expand his operations.

“I wanted to scale up, so I approached the city council. They supported the idea, organized a land auction, and I was able to win,” Yurii shared.

The farmer plans to grow zucchinis, strawberries, watermelons, corn, and tomatoes. All products will be organic, which, according to Yurii, presents a significant challenge in a region dominated by traditional agrochemicals.

“We want to bring back the real taste of vegetables to Ukrainians and restore their trust in food. People should know: this is not 'water with Styrofoam', but a natural product grown with care,” he emphasizes.

The first harvest from the new plot is expected after the completion of preparatory work. This year, the farm will focus on setting up irrigation, preparing the soil, and developing infrastructure. Yurii also thanked the mayor, Serhii Dmytriev, for assistance with organizational matters, particularly regarding water supply.

In the long term, the project will create 20–30 permanent jobs for local residents.

“Don’t hesitate to reach out to the authorities with your ideas. If one door doesn’t open—another one will surely be found,” Yurii advises those dreaming of starting their own business.

The Bolgrad City Council emphasizes that the development of local entrepreneurship and support for proactive residents is among their key priorities.
