In Ukraine, there have been 426 applications from citizens for the de-mining of agricultural lands under the state compensation program, with over 1,500 hectares cleared in 2025.
This was reported during a television broadcast by the director of the Humanitarian De-mining Center (HDC), Volodymyr Baida, as conveyed by Ukrinform.
“Currently, we see considerable progress in this program. A total of 426 applications have been received, covering over 14,000 hectares of agricultural land (previously, only 3,000 hectares were cleared in three years).
We have already conducted 65 auctions, with contracts totaling 835 million UAH signed under the program. As for the cleared (from mines – ed.) areas, over 1,500 hectares have been liberated this year,” he stated.
According to Baida, the program was allocated 3 billion UAH for 2025.
“Farmers are much more active this year. Last year, out of 85 operators, only eight participated in the auctions, but now it’s close to 20,” Baida noted.
He specified that 110 out of 235 applications this year were rejected due to the lack of non-technical land surveys.
