New Energy Solutions for Odesa's Resilience
Odesa is implementing new cogeneration installations to enhance the city's energy resilience.
Odessa's municipal workers from «Miskzelentrest» have begun planting summer flowers. The floral arrangements will typically include salvias, geraniums, begonias, petunias, ageratum, tagetes, and chlorophytum.
The first summer flowers have already appeared in the partially renovated Bourse Square and the flowerbeds near the Primorsky District Administration, replacing the spring blooms. This year, they plan to plant 350,000 summer flowers.
As noted by the «Miskzelentrest», summer flowers will be planted throughout all city districts, replacing spring flowers that have already bloomed.
Additionally, today, landscapers planted 72 shrubs.
Perennial plants such as junipers, hibiscuses, and broom are being planted with a closed root system for better adaptation in urban environments.
Younger plants have adorned the median on Nebesnoyi Sotni Avenue and the corner of Prince Yaroslav the Wise Avenue.

All flower seedlings (summer and spring) as well as flowers for vertical landscaping (100-150 hanging pots) are cultivated in their greenhouses at the «Rose» section. Each year, about 1 million plants (200-250 thousand spring flowers, 250 thousand potted flowering plants, and around 500 thousand other seedlings) and approximately 11 thousand ornamental leafy trees are grown here.
Every year, landscapers plant around 40,000 perennials (chrysanthemums, miscanthus, yucca, hydrangeas, irises, euonymus, and others) sourced from the enterprise's greenhouses.
Starting from September, preparations for the following year's greenhouses begin. The «Rose» section spans 5 hectares, featuring 4,000 square meters of greenhouse complex, 2,000 square meters of hotbeds, and a service yard. This facility is overseen by 29 landscapers and 3 engineering-technical staff.
Traditionally, the first spring flowers (daisies, violas, forget-me-nots, and selections) adorn Odessa at the beginning of April. Later, they are replaced by summer flowers: salvias, petunias, primroses, tagetes, and ageratum.
Additionally, the «Miskzelentrest» is responsible for over 547.71 hectares of land: 16 parks, 79 squares, 7 boulevards, and 122 other green areas.
