Odessa's Accessibility Initiative: New Horizons for Everyone

Recently, Odessa launched a new initiative to mark routes that ensure barrier-free access. The first informational signs appeared in highly trafficked pedestrian areas, near social facilities, healthcare institutions, and educational establishments.

The 'Barrier-Free Route' project is ongoing.

Today marks the beginning of the second phase of the marking: volunteers from the 'Movement Without Barriers' have placed special visual markers at public transport stops, in residential courtyards, and near key social facilities. These markers assist individuals with limited mobility in navigating the city.

The project in Odessa is initiated by the city mayor, Gennadiy Trukhanov. Coordination is provided by the Barrier-Free Council, which includes experts, veterans, and representatives of civic organizations.
