Today marks an important date - the Day of Military Communicators in Ukraine.
This holiday was established by a presidential decree on February 1, 2000. On this day, August 8, 1920, in Kyiv, the training of military communicators began at a military school.
Since Ukraine's independence on January 3, 1992, the communication management has taken responsibility for the military communication system, including various military districts. This was the first step towards forming the modern communication management of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In February 2020, as part of the reforms, the Command of Military Communications and Cybersecurity of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was established, aligning with NATO standards.
Today, military communicators provide crucial communication and management for the armed forces, and their role is indispensable across all branches of the military. This specialty is highly sought after on the frontlines.
President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed gratitude to military communicators, who ensure the success of significant operations.
According to Zelensky, this is a day of appreciation for those who maintain reliable communication during the most challenging moments. This pertains to all levels - from command to the front line. The success of operations and the coordination of defenders' actions depend on the professionalism of military communicators.
"Thank you for your work and professionalism. Happy holiday to you!", - emphasized the President.
Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal also congratulated military communicators on their professional holiday.
"Reliable communication is the foundation of every successful operation. It is critically important at all stages of combat operations", - noted Shmyhal in his statement.
He underscored that thanks to the efforts of military communicators, units can effectively coordinate their actions, and commanders receive timely information.
"Thank you for your resilience and professionalism. Your work is vital for every victory of our units", - added the minister and wished military communicators health and success in their service to Ukraine.
