NBU Plans Gradual Withdrawal of 10-Kopeck Coins
The NBU intends to gradually withdraw 10-kopeck coins from circulation starting October 1, 2025, aiming to reduce state expenses.
In Odessa, the ambrosia flowering season has begun, and municipal services are actively engaged in eliminating this plant, which is a potent allergen.
Ambrosia artemisiifolia is a dangerous quarantine weed that harms not only agriculture but also public health.
To prevent its spread, the municipal enterprise «Miskzelentrest» conducts grass cutting and additional work a month before flowering starts. To eliminate ambrosia, they use the natural preparation «Bishofit» which is sprayed with special equipment (about 300 liters per hectare). This solution penetrates the plant through its leaves, causing rapid wilting while being safe for humans and the environment.
«Miskzelentrest» reminds that, according to the «Rules of Landscaping in Odessa», the responsibility for weed elimination lies with the property owners and users — from enterprises to private homeowners.
The compliance control is executed by a dedicated department, which issues orders if ambrosia is detected, and in more complex cases, compiles protocols.
As per the information from «Miskzelentrest», there are currently no large ambrosia infestations found in the city.
According to the Law of Ukraine on «Plant Quarantine», the measures for eliminating quarantine organisms on land are carried out at the expense of landowners or land users. Inspectors from the control department of «Miskzelentrest» are authorized to compile administrative protocols for failure to comply with weed elimination requirements, which are submitted for review to the administrative commission of the Odessa City Council.
Protocols are drawn up in accordance with Article 152 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses, which entails fines ranging from 340 to 1360 UAH for citizens and from 850 to 1700 UAH for officials and business entities.
