Beach Inspections in Odesa: Safety Compliance

In Odesa, inspections of beaches are ongoing to ensure compliance with the joint order of the Odesa Regional State Administration and the military command «Odesa» regarding safe recreation.

According to the directive from the head of the regional military administration, the opening of beaches during wartime is only possible after all safety measures are implemented and a corresponding act is obtained from the Odesa district military administration.

Last week, 11 beaches operating without official permission were identified during inspections in Odesa. Another three beaches in the Kyiv district were found on August 19 to be violating the order.

These beaches include: «Nadiya» (between the collector and traverse No. 17 of the second stage of the coastal protection system); «Chayka» (between traverses No. 6-A and No. 6-B of the second stage of the coastal protection system); and the beach at the 15th station of the Great Fountain (LLC «Atlant Sea Group»), located between traverses 14 and 15.

The city's Department of Engineering Protection and Coastal Development has prepared relevant acts, and lessees have been given orders for immediate rectification of violations. All documents will be forwarded to district and regional military administrations for further action.

The city authorities remind once again: the operation of beaches without official permission from the regional state administration is a serious violation of the law, posing a threat to the health and lives of vacationers.

Inspections of beaches will continue, covering not only safety requirements but also ensuring free access along the water's edge.

Additionally, the Barrier-Free Council conducts inspections of beaches to assess access for persons with disabilities and groups with limited mobility.
