Beginning in 2025, «Miskzelentrest» in Odesa has removed 958 hazardous and dead trees while also clearing over 800 stumps.

These efforts were carried out in response to citizen requests, due to extreme weather events, or as part of municipal enhancement programs.

In the fall, the company plans to plant around 1,000 young trees, including ashes, sophoras, lindens, maples, and others. Most of these will be planted in the locations of the removed trees. All new trees are large-caliper and suitable for urban environments.

Stump removal is a very challenging task. Until this year, the municipal workers lacked specialized equipment for stump removal, which significantly complicated the process. Currently, the work is being conducted using new machinery — the Rotor Speedy 80/100 stump grinder and the KATA KF1404 tractor with 140 horsepower, designed for timely and quality stump removal.

With the new equipment, the landscapers are significantly reducing the time spent on physically demanding tasks through mechanization; previously, manual stump removal was scheduled for 12 hours, but now the entire process of removing a 70 cm diameter stump takes only 40 minutes.
