Today, October 1st, Ukraine celebrates Defender's Day. This day is dedicated to honoring the spirit of those who fought for our independence in the past, as well as the bravery of modern soldiers, veterans, and volunteers who are currently defending our nation.

Odesa's Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov addressed the defenders with a warm message:

«Dear defenders and protectors! On behalf of myself and the entire Odesa community — from every family, every heart, every home — we express our gratitude to you. You are the light in our windows. You prevent fear from taking root in our hearts. Thanks to you, we have a hopeful future. We do not just say thank you; we support you: we work, volunteer, and pray. We are not just waiting — we are building the country you will return to with victory. May every «thank you» we say serve as your armor. May every child's smile, every peaceful morning, and each new day be proof that your fight is not in vain. May God protect Ukraine!»
