Empowering Veterans in Odesa
Odesa is making strides in enhancing the quality of life for veterans through dedicated rehabilitation initiatives.
As of October 1, 2025, Odesa shows a positive trend in tourism metrics. This was reported by Ivan Liptuga, the director of the Department of International Cooperation, Culture, and Marketing of the Odesa City Council.
The tourist tax reached 9 million 120 thousand UAH, which is a 25% increase compared to 2024.
Overall revenue growth from the tourist tax and other taxes in various segments ranges from 25% to 40%.
During the peak season (July-August), beaches opened by the military administration, including two inclusive ones, were operational.
Four and five-star hotels reported an increase in demand. The average cost of accommodation grew by approximately 30%. Growth was observed in both premium and business segments. 90% of tourists are domestic visitors from various regions of Ukraine.
The average spending of tourists in the high segment increased by 25%, while in the mid-range, it increased by 35-40%.
In 2024, Odesa was visited by about 4 million people, of which around 350 thousand were foreigners (mostly citizens of neighboring countries, journalists, humanitarian missions, and business trips).
Despite the restrictions caused by the war, Odesa remains the only accessible alternative for vacationing on the coast. The city continues to work on diversifying tourist flows to ensure stable visits not only in summer but throughout the year.
