Modern Upgrades at Odesa Infectious Diseases Hospital

Renovation works have commenced at the Odesa Infectious Diseases Hospital.

This medical institution is the oldest in the city, founded between 1802 and 1804 under the initiative of Duke Richelieu. It serves as a vital defense for Southern Ukraine against infectious diseases.

Residents of Odesa, the surrounding region, and internally displaced persons receive assistance here. In recent years, the hospital has been evolving into a modern medical center capable of responding effectively to various challenges.

As part of Ukraine's recovery program, implemented by the Ukrainian government and the European Investment Bank, works are ongoing in two hospital buildings.

In the Valikhovsky building, which is an architectural monument, all structural elements will be reinforced during the renovation, and authentic interior details along with marble staircases will be restored. Currently, dismantling works are being carried out, structures are being strengthened, and ceilings are being reinforced and concreted.

The internal spaces of this hospital building will be redesigned according to modern standards, and all old engineering networks will be completely replaced.

The administrative building has seen the roof replaced, and facade restoration is nearing completion. Inside, partitioning, finishing works, and replacement of engineering systems such as ventilation, water supply, sewage, and electrical supply are underway.

In addition to funding from the European Bank, other hospital buildings are being renovated using municipal budget funds. The final phase involves the renovation of a two-story children's building, where a modern boxed department with 82 beds is being created.

Moreover, the municipal budget also funds the upgrade of the drainage system and the strengthening and waterproofing of the foundation of the bacteriological laboratory.
