The municipal workers in Odesa are actively engaged in maintaining the stormwater drainage system to ensure cleanliness on the city's streets.

Currently, work is being conducted on the Romanian Canal, while similar tasks have been completed on the Kuyalnik and Shchelakiv canals, as well as the Buffer Pond.

These hydraulic structures, including the Buffer Pond, Romanian Canal, and Kuyalnik canals, are specifically designed for the efficient drainage of rainwater, runoff, and melting snow from the city streets.

Using specialized equipment, the municipal services are clearing the canals and pond of vegetation, litter, and silt. Special attention is given to the most clogged areas where runoff from residential houses is discharged.

Regular maintenance is also performed on the storm drains and sewer collectors located throughout the city. Heavy machinery such as excavators, graders, Maz trucks, and high-pressure hydraulic units based on MAN trucks are involved in these cleaning operations. In the event of heavy rainfall, these tasks are carried out on an emergency basis.
