Celebrating 10 Years of Rehabilitation Services in Odesa

The rehabilitation department of City Hospital No. 8 in Odesa is celebrating its tenth anniversary of operation. The journey started in 2015 when rehabilitation beds were established within one of the hospital's therapeutic units. Subsequently, a major renovation took place, and modern rehabilitation equipment was procured, leading to the creation of a dedicated rehabilitation unit.

The unit offers both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services, focusing on conditions related to the musculoskeletal system, neurological disorders, and recovery post-stroke.

In the current year, nearly 500 outpatient rehabilitation services have been provided, and over 200 patients have undergone rehabilitation in an inpatient setting. All services are offered free of charge under the state medical guarantees program, with referrals from family or specialized doctors.

The department is continuously evolving and being equipped with modern rehabilitation technology. This year, with the support of local authorities, the hospital received new equipment, including an automatic treadmill with support and devices for passive rehabilitation of limbs.

Staff at Hospital No. 8 regularly undergo training and acquire new knowledge, participating in scientific and practical conferences, seminars, and rehabilitation training. Moreover, the rehabilitation department collaborates with the relevant department of Odesa National Medical University to train medical interns in physical and rehabilitation medicine.

Modern equipment, the implementation of cutting-edge technologies, and ongoing professional development for medical staff enable the provision of effective rehabilitation assistance at City Hospital No. 8 and enhance the quality of life for patients following their rehabilitation courses. This is particularly critical now, amid the full-scale war, as the demand for medical rehabilitation for Ukraine's defenders is heightened.
