Winter Preparations of Municipal Services in Odesa

To ensure road safety and effective response to winter conditions, the municipal enterprise «City Roads» in Odesa is implementing a series of preparatory measures.

Traditionally, from late November to early December, municipal workers finish cleaning the streets and re-equip their machinery. They remove tanks from cleaning vehicles and replace them with salt-sand spreaders.

Winter equipment is being installed, with most machines outfitted with snow plows. All machinery undergoes inspection and preventive maintenance. After preparation, the specialized equipment will be tested on the company's premises.

The «City Roads» enterprise has snowplows, sand spreaders, graders, and other equipment at its disposal. In total, 104 units of machinery and 560 workers will be involved in snow clearing operations during the winter season of 2025-2026.

As of December 4, the equipment has been reconfigured and is ready for winter use.

The company is also preparing anti-icing sand-salt mixtures. In case of worsening weather conditions, it has secured 10,363 tons of reagents for road treatment.

The «City Roads» has developed 17 routes for snow removal vehicles to ensure prompt road clearing from snow and addressing icy conditions. Additionally, 54 routes have been designated for salting the streets to reduce road hazards during icy conditions.

From December 1, 2025, the round-the-clock duty of the «City Roads» teams has commenced to respond swiftly to adverse weather conditions. Duty rooms are ready, and the staff operating the machinery is provided with winter clothing.
