Spring Planting Status in Ukraine as of April 11

As of April 11, farmers across Ukraine have sown spring grains and legumes on a total area of 1,058.6 thousand hectares. In the Zaporizhzhia region, corn planting has commenced.

This information is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

According to the ministry's estimates, the largest area is dedicated to barley, covering 612.2 thousand hectares. Spring wheat has been sown on 141.1 thousand hectares, peas on 182.8 thousand hectares, oats on 106.1 thousand hectares, and corn on 0.02 thousand hectares.

Leading regions in planting pace:

  • Odesa Oblast: 107.2 thousand hectares (wheat – 6.1 thousand hectares, barley – 33.5 thousand hectares, peas – 59.1 thousand hectares, oats – 1.4 thousand hectares);
  • Ternopil Oblast: 88.1 thousand hectares (wheat – 14 thousand hectares, barley – 64.1 thousand hectares, peas – 4.1 thousand hectares, oats – 5.3 thousand hectares);
  • Poltava Oblast: 86.3 thousand hectares (wheat – 4.5 thousand hectares, barley – 69.1 thousand hectares, peas – 9.6 thousand hectares, oats – 3.1 thousand hectares);
  • Khmelnytskyi Oblast: 84.9 thousand hectares (wheat – 10 thousand hectares, barley – 69.8 thousand hectares, peas – 2.6 thousand hectares, oats – 2.5 thousand hectares);
  • Mykolaiv Oblast: 75.6 thousand hectares (wheat – 4.5 thousand hectares, barley – 43 thousand hectares, peas – 27.5 thousand hectares, oats – 0.6 thousand hectares).

Additionally, sunflower has been sown on 51.5 thousand hectares, sugar beets on 76 thousand hectares, and soybeans on 4.5 thousand hectares.
