In Odesa, events took place to honor the memory of Holodomor victims, including flower laying and memorial services.
A man has been accused of stabbing his acquaintance, resulting in serious injuries. He faces a potential prison sentence of up to eight years.
This was reported by the police.
The incident occurred last week in the evening on 7-a Peresyp Street in Odesa, where the two men encountered each other by chance. A drunken 42-year-old local resident confronted a 27-year-old acquaintance, accusing him of not returning money for a power bank. During the ensuing altercation, the older man stabbed the younger one in the stomach and chest before fleeing the scene.
Passersby called an ambulance for the injured man. Medical staff hospitalized him and notified the police about the incident. Currently, the victim is in the hospital with serious injuries, including penetrating wounds to the abdominal wall and chest cavity.
The victim was in critical condition and unable to identify his attacker. However, police quickly located the suspect using a service dog that followed the scent to the perpetrator.
