Honoring Heroes: A Tribute to Ukraine's Defenders
An event to honor the soldiers who lost their lives fighting for Ukraine took place near the Odessa City Council.
The Odessa Regional Prosecutor's Office has submitted a case against a medical worker suspected of treason (Part 2 Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) to the court.
According to the investigation, the accused voluntarily provided information to Russian intelligence services for conducting subversive activities against Ukraine. He anticipated securing a position in the occupying administration if the region were captured.
The individual disclosed to the aggressor the locations of Ukrainian military units, including the Territorial Defense Forces, State Border Guard Service, and Maritime Security in the Izmail district.
Another of his tasks included monitoring the vessels entering the local port and the types of cargo they carried.
This information was used by the occupiers to plan attacks on the Odessa region.
Specifically, he transmitted details about the whereabouts of Ukrainian defenders and military infrastructure to an FSB officer in Russia via a messaging app.
The agent was apprehended in August 2024, and during a search, a mobile phone with evidence of his criminal activities was seized.
Currently, upon the request of the prosecution, he is in custody.
The investigation was conducted by the SBU in the Odessa region.
Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court ruling.
