A tragic incident occurred at a maternity hospital in Odesa, where a 25-year-old mother lost her baby.

The mother, Olena Boiko, contacted the police to report the events leading to the tragedy.

According to her, the pregnancy was without complications, but serious issues arose during an examination by doctor Kateryna Shapoval.

"The examination was extremely painful. I couldn't stand the pain, and the nurses held me on the chair", - recalls Olena.

After the examination, she experienced bleeding, which the doctor attributed to "the waters breaking". Olena and her husband rushed to the hospital.

During labor, the woman felt intense pain and requested a cesarean section, but the doctor insisted, "Everyone experiences pain".

Unfortunately, during contractions, the baby's heartbeat started to drop, leading to a critical situation.

"I watched the screen as the heartbeat decreased until the doctor decided to perform an emergency operation", - she recounts.

Regrettably, after the delivery, the baby was not breathing, despite the doctors' attempts to save her.

"My husband came in, crying, and told me that the baby had died", - Olena remembers.

The doctors explained that the bleeding occurred due to an abnormal placement of the blood vessels, which had not been detected during the ultrasound.

"The vessels were improperly attached, causing internal bleeding", - she adds.

The police have initiated an investigation and classified the case under the improper performance of medical duties, which could result in a punishment of up to three years in prison.
