Russia's New Assault on SOCAR Facilities: Urgent Call for Action
Russia has launched another attack on SOCAR oil facilities in Ukraine, necessitating an urgent international response.
On July 3, 2025, a strategic session was held at the Odessa City Council focusing on health care, social protection, and integration. This initiative is part of the UNDP project 'Transformational Recovery for People’s Safety in Ukraine' with financial support from the Japanese government.
Participants included representatives from various structural divisions of the Odessa City Council, healthcare institutions, social services, as well as NGOs and community organizations.
The main goal of the session was to create a unified vision for the development of the healthcare and social protection system in Odessa, identify key challenges and opportunities, and devise specific initiatives.
During the session, the current state of the medical and social sectors was analyzed, along with available resources and challenges. Group discussions were held, and specific proposals were formulated regarding primary healthcare, prevention, specialized medicine, social protection for veterans and vulnerable groups, and innovations in healthcare.
Among the key trends in healthcare, participants identified: improving quality of life, disease prevention, enhancing citizens' health, and a personalized approach to health care. In terms of social protection, current issues include creating conditions for citizens' welfare, optimizing social relations, unlocking individual potential, and achieving social harmony.
All the proposals collected will serve as a foundation for shaping the future development strategy of the Odessa territorial community.
