The Department of International Cooperation, Culture, and Marketing of the Odessa City Council has announced the upcoming conference «Odessa Collections» to be held at the «#ARTODESSA» gallery on July 4, 2025.

This event aims to bring together collectors, cultural scholars, art historians, and arts managers from Odessa to discuss important issues surrounding the collection, preservation, study, and promotion of artistic collections.

Odessa is a wellspring of endless artifacts and artworks of historical and cultural significance for future generations. Thus, preserving cultural heritage is incredibly important. Developing modern projects in the fields of museification and management of collectible items is a priority for the people of Odessa.

The conference will feature panel discussions on:

1. The uniqueness and characteristics of Odessa collections and their focus. (Anatoly Drozdovsky, Sergey Kalmykov, Felix Kokrikh, Alexander Friedman).

2. Private and municipal collections, museification, preservation during conflicts. (Semen Kantor, Zoya Shinchuk, Linda Strautman, Yuri Balashov, Vitaliy Lisnichiy).

3. Studying collections and the importance of expanding archives. (Tatiana Shchurova, Elena Yavorskaya, Vera Fenelonova, Alexander Yakimchuk).
