In a historic first, a Ukrainian veterans' crew from Odesa took to the waters of the Grand Canal during the Venetian Regatta.

Our brave men, who have faced the front lines and endured injuries, set off in a legendary boat to showcase the strength and resilience of Ukrainian military personnel.

Amidst a sea of colorful boats, historical costumes, gondoliers, and thousands of spectators from around the world, the proud cries of «Glory to Ukraine!» echoed, accompanied by fluttering Ukrainian flags. This is symbolic: despite losses and trials, Ukrainians possess the strength to triumph - both in war and in life.

The Venetian Regatta is not only a sporting event but a cultural phenomenon with over 700 years of tradition, drawing countless spectators. The presence of our veterans in Venice and their participation in the races was made possible through the support of Venice's Mayor Luigi Brugnaro and the local community.
