Animal Protection Day Celebration for Children in Odesa

In honor of World Animal Protection Day, an event was organized for children who have been displaced due to the war and are now residing in a charitable foundation in Odesa.

The youth eagerly watched the performances of police service dogs. These four-legged helpers showcased their skills in following commands, searching for hidden objects, and apprehending offenders.

«Our service dogs carry out important tasks daily and are invaluable assistants to law enforcement in maintaining public order. At the same time, they bring warmth and comfort to those who have faced hardships. We strive to teach children to see every living being as deserving of love and respect», emphasized Olena Chernylevska-Isaiko, head of the canine center.

Viktoriya Chalova, head of juvenile prevention, noted the necessity of positive emotions for children in difficult situations. Interacting with animals helps them feel safe and builds trust. Such meetings also assist in fostering a compassionate attitude toward animals and understanding the responsibilities of pet ownership.
At the end of the event, children took pictures with the animals, which will serve as a reminder of the heartfelt emotions and important life lessons they experienced.
