The first round of the open volleyball tournament «Southern League» for girls of two age categories – 2008 and 2010 – took place in Odesa.

11 teams from Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kryvyi Rih, and Zhytomyr participated in the competition. The tournament format included 4 regular rounds and 1 final.

The Odesa team «Lantana» excelled among the athletes born in 2008, winning all matches and only losing two sets throughout the tournament. Mykolaiv took the second place in this category, while Kryvyi Rih secured the third position.

In the competitions for athletes born in 2010, the team from Odesa’s «Dzhynestra» achieved a convincing victory. The second place went to the athletes from Zhytomyr, and Mykolaiv's team finished third.

The «Dzhynestra» team included players from the beach volleyball department.
