Return to In-Person Classes for Odessa Students

Starting Monday, April 14, students in Odessa schools will be able to return to in-person classes, provided that classroom temperatures exceed 17 degrees. Each school will make its own decision regarding the return to in-person instruction.

This information was shared on April 13 by Elena Buinevich, the director of the city’s education department.

Class teachers are expected to inform parents about the current situation in their schools.

«Today, all schools will check the temperature. If it exceeds +17°C, we will resume in-person classes. Both directors and teachers are just as eager to return to in-person education as the parents and students are. The end of last week confirmed the correctness of switching to remote learning, so we are acting according to the Sanitary Regulations», – emphasized Buinevich.

It is worth noting that due to a sharp drop in temperature, schools in Odessa switched to remote learning on April 8, causing frustration among parents who believe that children should attend school.
