Government Approval for School Bus Funding in 2025

The Ukrainian government has made a decision regarding the allocation of state funds to support local budgets for school buses in 2025.

The financing will be directed to 10 regions that are in urgent need of updating their vehicle fleets for transporting students and educators.

This initiative is a significant step towards ensuring quality and safe education for every child, regardless of their place of residence or the current security situation.

The subsidy will enable communities to acquire new school buses, including those specifically designed for transporting children with special educational needs. Procurements will be conducted under co-financing conditions from local budgets and via the Prozorro Market, which will significantly expedite the processes.

The following regions will receive buses:

  • Dnipropetrovsk region
  • Zaporizhzhia region
  • Kirovohrad region
  • Odesa region
  • Sumy region
  • Kharkiv region
  • Khmelnytskyi region
  • Cherkasy region
  • Chernihiv region

The total amount of allocated funds is 273.7 million UAH.

This is part of a large-scale government program that allocates 1.6 billion UAH for the purchase of over 500 buses in 2025. Priority will be given to hub schools, military lyceums, institutions that accept students from other territories, and schools that have lost transportation due to the war. It is worth noting that communities have already purchased 110 buses since the beginning of the year.
