Anna Muzychuk Claims Bronze at the 2025 World Team Chess Championship

Ukrainian chess player Anna Muzychuk, as part of the "Freedom" club, captured a bronze medal at the 2025 World Team Championship in rapid and blitz chess.

Following her victory over the reigning world champion Ju Wenjun at the prestigious Norway Chess tournament, where she earned "gold", Anna competed in her second World Team Championship in rapid and blitz among clubs, held in London.

In the "Freedom" team, she was joined by nine other players, including five-time world champion Viswanathan Anand. A total of 54 teams participated in the competition, playing 12 rounds using a Swiss system, with six players per team.

The 2016 world champion in rapid and blitz played six games at the club championship: she secured one victory against Shoka Gaal from "Team Hungary", four draws, and suffered a loss to Elina Rebers from "Knight Dance" in the final, 12th game. Thus, Anna contributed three points to her team.

After 12 rounds of the club championship, the "Freedom" team accumulated 17 points in the standings and earned bronze medals. The championship was won by "Team MGD1" with 21 points, while "Hexamind Chess Team" took silver with 20 points.

According to the latest FIDE rating, updated in June, Anna Muzychuk ranks seventh with 2535 points.
