Details: Zelensky's office confirmed that the meeting with Trump took place but did not provide any specifics. According to the Office of the President, the meeting lasted for 15 minutes.
This meeting was the first following a heated exchange in the Oval Office in Washington in February and occurred at a critical moment for peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.
"President Trump and President Zelensky had a constructive discussion today. More detailed information about the meeting will be provided later," said Stephen Chung, the White House communications director.
Trump, who urges both sides to agree on a ceasefire, stated on Friday that productive talks occurred between his envoy and Russian leadership, calling for a high-level meeting between Kyiv and Moscow to finalize an agreement.
Earlier, reports indicated that the Trump administration presented Ukraine with a one-page document in Paris, referred to as the "final proposal" for peace resolution. Among other things, the U.S. is prepared to recognize Russia's control over Crimea and ease sanctions against Moscow.
President Zelensky stated on April 24 that the U.S. proposed its strategy regarding Ukrainian territories during negotiations in London, but he mentioned that after the proposal, "another paper" emerged.
