Drone Attack on Odessa Zoo Director's Home

Last night, a Russian drone struck the home of Igor Bilyakov, the director of the Odessa Zoo. Fortunately, he was unharmed, but the building was completely destroyed.

This was reported by the official page of the Municipal Enterprise "Odessa Zoo".

Impact on Bilyakov's Residence

As a result of the hostile drone attack, Igor Bilyakov's house was obliterated, and his mobile phone was burned. Therefore, the zoo director is currently unreachable and cannot answer calls.

"Fortunately, the zoo director is unharmed, but his phone is destroyed, so he currently cannot answer any calls. We ask for understanding in this situation," — the zoo staff stated.

Moreover, due to the attack, Igor Bilyakov's pets are in danger — some went missing during the explosion. Search efforts are ongoing, and the institution requests anyone with information about the lost animals to come forward.

May 16 Attack

During the night, the enemy targeted the Odessa and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi regions: private residential houses, outbuildings, and a garage with three cars were destroyed. Fires broke out at the sites, which were extinguished by rescuers along with local volunteers. Two men and a woman sustained shrapnel injuries, blast trauma, fractures, and thermal burns. The injured individual is currently in serious condition in the hospital.

Let us remind you, we recently reported on a serval at the Odessa Zoo that ended up in the lions' adjacent enclosure, as well as the consequences of the nighttime attack.
