The Mayor of Odesa, Hennadii Trukhanov, held a virtual meeting with the Mayor of Chisinau, Ion Cheban. They greeted each other and the residents of their cities on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of their partnership and discussed current issues and future development of their relations.

The previous meeting between Trukhanov and Cheban took place at the Summit of Mayors of European Cities in Strasbourg, where they discussed the role of local governance in strengthening civil society and the implementation of infrastructure projects.

Continuing the dialogue, Ion Cheban highlighted that Moldova is currently implementing several projects with neighboring Romania and expressed optimism for the development of trilateral cooperation.

Hennadii Trukhanov and Ion Cheban agreed to establish a trilateral working group to develop joint initiatives in the fields of infrastructure, economy, and social support in order to promote sustainable development of the cities and strengthen ties between Ukraine, Moldova, and Romania.

This initiative aims to attract additional resources, promote experience exchange, and provide support to Ukrainians during challenging times.
