Odesa and Venice continue to strengthen their bonds, which have long transcended formal agreements.

We have signed documents to extend cooperation between our cities. This is not merely paperwork — it is active work that the residents of Odesa have already felt. Venice has actively supported our city on its journey towards inclusion in the UNESCO list. Together, we are working on preserving cultural heritage, exchanging experiences in restoration and urban development.

As part of this cooperation, significant events have already taken place: Odesa Days in Venice, performances by our musicians at Teatro La Fenice, and a historic moment — the participation of Odessa veterans in the Regata Storica. For the first time in history, a Ukrainian crew took to the waters of the Grand Canal, with the flags of Ukraine and Odesa waving in the heart of Venice. This became a symbol of our resilience and friendship between our cities.

I had the special honor of presenting the Honorary award of the Mayor of Odesa to Venice's Mayor Luigi Brugnaro. This is our heartfelt gratitude to him and the entire community of Venice for their support, solidarity, and true brotherhood.

We will continue to deepen our cooperation, as we are united not only by agreements but also by shared values — faith in freedom, culture, and a peaceful future.
