A New Era of Collaboration: Odesa and Bristol Unite

On October 7th, an online seminar titled «Building Cultural and Tourism Connections Between Bristol (West England) and Odesa (Ukraine)» was held, organized with the support of Odesa City Council Advisor Tetiana Markova. This event marks the first step towards long-term cooperation between two UNESCO Creative Cities.

«The United Kingdom is not just a partner, but a true friend of Ukraine, supporting us in our toughest times. Odesa is a city that has always been open to the world, and we are excited to begin active collaboration with the West England region and the city of Bristol. We are united by creativity, cultural depth, and a shared desire to shape the future together,» stated Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov.

Bristol City Council Advisor Paul Hoggin shared his impressions of his visit to Odesa, calling it «a city with unique architecture, sincere people, and unforgettable flavors.»

Participants of the seminar included representatives from city councils, cultural institutions, tourism organizations, the film industry, and festivals from both countries.

Key priorities include creating joint projects and festivals, participation of Odesa artists in Bristol events, exchange programs for schoolchildren and creative youth, collaboration with the Visit West tourism platform, and restoring historical monuments in Odesa that were damaged during the war.

The British side confirmed its readiness for humanitarian support and economic cooperation.
