Trial of Russian Intelligence Network Participants in Odesa

In Odesa, a trial has begun against participants of an espionage network who transmitted information about military and medical facilities in the city. They shared details about at least 10 such locations. Two of the women are in custody, while the third is serving an 8-year prison sentence.

This was reported by the Odesa regional prosecutor's office.

Law enforcement revealed that the accused, under the supervision of a Russian intelligence agent, collected information about the locations of Ukrainian Armed Forces units and critical infrastructure in Odesa.

"The main organizer of the network turned out to be a 23-year-old local resident. At her direction, she involved two of her friends who also supported the aggressor's actions. They even applied for jobs in one of the Russian intelligence agencies."

"For several months, the trio gathered and sent via messenger text messages, photos, videos, and Google Maps screenshots showing the locations of Ukrainian Armed Forces units, recruitment centers, hospitals, and air defense sites. They managed to inform the invaders about at least 10 targets," the report states.

For their "work," the women received $500 and hoped to take leadership positions in trade management following the occupation of the region.

The accused were apprehended in June 2024 while gathering information about the location of a military unit. Currently, two women are in custody, while the third is serving an 8-year sentence. Considering their cooperation with the investigation and other circumstances like pregnancy, the court imposed a lighter sentence than prescribed by law.
