Odessa Prepares for Heating Season: New Pipes and Safety Measures

In Odessa, hydraulic testing of the heating network is currently underway, an essential step in preparing for the winter season.

The pipes are being checked for tightness and strength to minimize the risk of emergencies during the heating period. At this time, the temperature of the heat carrier is below 40°C. Sections of the heating network that cannot be repaired are being replaced with new ones.

As part of the city's winter preparations, assistance is being provided by the USAID Energy Security Project.

In the past month, the municipal enterprise KP «TMO» received four deliveries of pre-insulated steel pipes along with fittings and shut-off valves.

In total, the enterprise has received steel pre-insulated pipes with polyurethane insulation:
- diameter 325 — 816 meters;
- diameter 219 — 24 meters;
- diameter 108 — 78 meters;
- diameter 57 — 14 meters.

Additionally, KP «TMO» received: ball valves, heat-shrinkable sleeves, fixed supports, expansion joints, sealing rings, joint insulation kits, and expansion cushions.

This assistance will facilitate further planned work on replacing damaged heating networks.

KP «TMO» urges residents and visitors of Odessa to park their vehicles only in designated areas and to avoid areas where ground subsidence has been observed. They are also encouraged to report such instances to the specialized center for prompt response in the housing and utilities sector — 15-01.
