Coffee for a Cause: Supporting the Armed Forces in Odessa

A new initiative called "Coffee for a Cause" has launched in Odessa.

This project, introduced last year by the city's Department of Education and Science, has quickly gained popularity among the residents and has become a cherished tradition.

At school fairs, you can buy delicious treats made with love by our children, parents, and teachers.

Every cup of coffee purchased is not just a delightful beverage, but also a contribution to our shared victory.

"Coffee from educators has once again united us around a common goal – to support those who defend our country daily. All collected funds will be donated to the Armed Forces, so our soldiers feel our support and gratitude," said Odessa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov.

The Director of the Department of Education and Science, Olena Bujnevych, thanked everyone for their incredible support, noting that the "Coffee for a Cause" initiative raised nearly 1.7 million hryvnias in just a few days.

Additionally, treats and gifts from the children were delivered to veterans undergoing rehabilitation.

In Odessa, rehabilitation departments operate in nearly all city hospitals, but inpatient care is only part of the long process of integrating veterans into civilian life.  The next steps include adaptive sports, vocational retraining, or starting their own business, allowing people with disabilities to meet their needs and those of their families.
