Enhancing Road Safety in Odessa: New Control Measures
Odessa is set to expand its network of traffic control measures to improve road safety.
A UNESCO mission led by Ms. Chiara De Cetti Bardeschi has arrived in Odesa to conduct an assessment.
The team members are examining cultural heritage sites affected during the hostile attack on November 14.
According to Ivan Liptuga, the Director of the Department of Culture of the Odesa City Council, 22 architectural monuments were damaged, with 19 being directly within UNESCO heritage sites.
“A special commission will convene next week to compile damage reports, allowing UNESCO to provide urgent assistance,” Ivan Liptuga stated.
“UNESCO condemns the violation of international law regarding attacks on cultural heritage. We are collaborating with local authorities to assess the situation and determine our next steps,” said Ms. Chiara De Cetti Bardeschi.
