Municipal Services' Role in Urban Cleanliness

Every day, around 1200 municipal workers are engaged in maintaining cleanliness in designated areas. They clean streets and maintain urban communication systems using both manual labor and specialized equipment.

In addition to routine cleaning tasks, these workers are responsible for the maintenance and repair of the city’s drainage systems and other important hydraulic structures like buffer ponds and canals.

Starting from spring, as favorable weather arrives, the municipal staff begins washing non-heritage monuments and carries out necessary repairs and painting.

As the fountain season approaches, specialists prepare and install the necessary equipment.

Landscapers perform trimming of roses, shrubs, and trees, as well as seeding lawns and maintaining flower beds.

Odessa's cemeteries are kept in proper sanitary condition, with workers removing last year's leaves and trash.

Daily tasks also include cleaning around residential areas, eliminating illegal dumpsites, and maintaining public spaces.
