New Stamp Series: Lighthouses of Ukraine

Ukrpost has announced the release of a new series of stamps dedicated to lighthouses located along the Black and Azov Seas, including those situated in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea.

This initiative is part of the "Lighthouses of Ukraine" series, which began in 2009, as stated by company representatives.

This year’s stamp release coincides with the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the State Hydrographic Service, the institution responsible for the maintenance of Ukrainian lighthouses.

"These stamps will tell the stories of the lighthouses of the Black and Azov Seas, as well as the Crimean lighthouses which, although temporarily occupied, remain an inseparable part of Ukraine in the hearts of its people", explained a spokesperson for Ukrpost.

The stamps feature:

  • The Ai-Todor and Chaudyn lighthouses in Crimea;
  • The Shagansk lighthouse in Odesa region;
  • The Bilosaraysk and Berdyansk Upper lighthouses in the Sea of Azov;
  • The Russian Back lighthouse on the Bug-Dnipro-Liman canal in Mykolaiv region.
