Accessibility Enhancements in Odesa
Odesa is enhancing accessibility: new ramps installed at pedestrian crossings.
On March 31, Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine Andriy Kashuba held an online meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova, Vladimir Bole. The discussion focused on the restoration of railway passenger services between Odessa and Chisinau, as well as the transit of Moldovan freight cars through Ukraine. This was reported by the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development.
Participants included the head of Ukrainian Railways Oleksandr Pertsovsky and other officials from both countries.
The Ukrainian side emphasized the importance of developing international transport, considering security and economic factors.
«We are partners sharing common European values. The restoration of the Odessa – Chisinau route will positively impact economic ties,» stated Andriy Kashuba.
Additionally, the need for a detailed economic feasibility analysis of the route restoration was discussed, including passenger flow assessments and potential tariffs.
Moreover, the Ukrainian side confirmed that there are no restrictions on the transit of Moldovan freight cars. Temporary difficulties in information exchange arose from a cyberattack on March 23.
«We are actively working to restore system stability and are ready to exchange data once recovery efforts are complete,» the ministry reported.
In conclusion, both sides agreed to continue working on all issues and maintain close communication for the further development of railway connections.
