A 22-year-old man is suspected of facilitating illegal border crossings. He has been charged and a preventive measure has been imposed. He faces imprisonment along with asset confiscation. This was reported by the police.  

Law enforcement officials found that a resident of the Velykomykhailivska community was looking for individuals wishing to leave the country illegally through social media. After finding two 'clients', he offered them a transfer to the border with Moldova for $5,000 each. The 'service' included not only transportation but also providing necessary recommendations for a 'safe' border crossing at night. Meeting with the 'clients', the suspect drove them in his car to one of the border settlements in the Rozdilna district. 

The suspect was apprehended by the police near the state border after delivering the men to their destination and receiving $10,000 from them. As material evidence, investigators seized the money and the vehicle, which has been placed under arrest. Due to the sanctions of the article under which he is charged, the vehicle may be confiscated by court decision. 

«The suspect has been informed of his charges for committing a criminal offense under part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, related to the organization of illegal transportation of individuals across the state border for selfish motives. This crime is punishable by imprisonment for up to nine years and confiscation of property. The court has chosen a preventive measure of detention with the possibility of bail», - stated investigator Bondarenko Victoria.
