An important working meeting took place at the charitable organization «Protez Foundation», focusing on pre-prosthetic preparation. The event included veterans with prosthetics, leadership from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, and medical services from various health institutions.
The meeting began with an introduction to the work of the «Protez Foundation» prosthetic center. Participants had the opportunity to see the process of making and fitting prosthetics, as well as learn about the latest rehabilitation technologies.
"Pre-prosthetic preparation is a crucial stage for medical staff when working with our defenders,” noted Inna Yashchuk, the Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Yuri Aroshidze, co-founder and president of the «Protez Foundation», emphasized that there are currently over 2000 people waiting for prosthetics. Thus, a significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to discussing a multidisciplinary approach to rehabilitation for patients after limb amputations.
“We are grateful to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine for their commitment to rehabilitating our defenders and ensuring quality prosthetics. We want our soldiers to feel supported throughout the entire process of recovery,” emphasized Yuri Aroshidze.
Special attention during the meeting was given to the role of social workers in the physical and psychological rehabilitation process and in facilitating veterans' reintegration into civilian life.
Modern approaches to treating chronic pain in servicemen suffering from PTSD were also discussed. Experts shared experiences using innovative methods that significantly enhance the quality of life for patients.
«I am very pleased that nearly 40 of our physical therapy specialists have undergone training in the USA, gaining valuable practical experience,» Inna Yashchuk highlighted.
Such meetings contribute to the development of an effective support system for veterans and ensure a comprehensive approach to their rehabilitation.
